The 2015 McDonald’s All American Games rosters are set for the April 1st showdown of the top players in the nation represented from the west and east coasts. As a member of the McDonald’s Selection Committee for many years, this was one of the most competitive recruiting classes I have seen in both the guard and post positions. Some of the top picks from the 2015 Selection Show have been supporters of Premier Basketball for many years, including, but not limited to, Lashann Higgs, Kyra Lambert, Jordan Hosey, Ashley Hearn, Napheesa Collier, Kalanie Brown and Kristine Anigwe.
Texas and Baylor both have two committed players that will be representing their schools this year. Other colleges represented are Connecticut with three players, Louisville with three players, Maryland with two players, Notre Dame with three players, North Carolina with two players and Kentucky, Washington, California, Tennessee, Missouri, UCLA, and Duke with one player. Four players were chosen to represent the state of Texas this year, along with three other players from this region that were heavy supporters of the Premier Basketball circuit, all whom were Top 50 players in the country.
The first player chosen from Texas was the PBR number one player in the state, Lashann Higgs. A 5’9” combination guard from Cedar Ridge High School, her speed and quickness are what define her as a difference maker on the court. She has strong ball handling skills and can easily get to the rim. Higgs plays summer basketball for Cy-Fair out of Houston and is committed to the University of Texas.
The PBR number two player in the state of Texas, Kyra Lambert, is a 5’8” point guard from Samuel Clemens High School. Lambert is a high-energy individual who plays with poise and confidence on both ends of the floor; she can score and defend with the best. Lambert played summer basketball for TeamXpress out of San Antonio and will be attending Duke University next Fall.
The PBR number three player in the state of Texas, Jordan Hosey, is a 6’2” forward from Manvel High School. Hosey is a very athletic player that rebounds well and scores a majority of her points around the basket. She has solid handles, passes the ball well and is a hustler on both ends of the floor. Jordan played summer Basketball for Cy-Fair out of Houston and will be attending the University of Texas with Lashann Higgs.
The PBR number five player in the state of Texas, Ashley Hearn, is a 6’3” forward from Sachse High School. Hearn can score around the glass with ease. On the defensive end, she is a great shot blocker and a solid rebounder. She runs the floor well and has good outlet passing ability. Hearn played summer basketball for TeamXpress out of San Antonio and has committed to UCLA.
Other McDonald’s All-Americans selections who have played in multiple Premier Basketball events include the PBR number 5 player in the country, Napheesa Collier, PBR number 13 player in the country, Kalanie Brown, and PBR number 20 player in the country, Kristine Anigwe. Collier is a 6’1” forward from Incarnate Word Academy, who plays summer basketball for Missouri Phenom adidas and will be attending the University of Connecticut. Brown is a 6’5” center from Salmen High School who plays for LA Lady Pumas and has committed to Baylor University. Anigwe is a 6’3” forward from Desert Village High School, playing summer basketball with the Arizona Elite adidas Basketball Club and who will attend the University of California.
Congratulations to the 24 players that will be representing the country this year at the McDonald’s All American games. Congratulations also to the other great players that were deserving of being nominated for this great honor as a high school player.
