The third annual The PRIME eventFINALS was held at the Mansfield Fieldhouse USA on August 21-22. This event is the summer ending cross-circuit matchup event aimed at lining up champions and competitors from across the various summer circuits and schedules in one winner-take-all tournament. Once again, the field did not disappoint.
We hosted teams from Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia and players from many more such as Alaska, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Washington (state), and Washington DC.
We separated the teams into five different brackets:
PRIME (Elite 17U) PREMIER (Elite 16U) PROJECT & PERFECT (Elite 15U) SELECT (17U) 3STEP SPORTS (16U)
CHAMPIONS
The higher the level of basketball, the more execution matters. The PRIME Bracket proved that to be true as 8 elite teams battled it out throughout the weekend.
Team Lex came away with the trophy with both outstanding defense and timely shot-making. 2022 Sa’Myah Smith hit multiple 3’s throughout the tourney. 2023’s Jerzie Bryant and Savannah Catalon came up particularly clutch in the championship game win over Mavs Elite.
Mavs Elite were led by an outstanding tournament from 2022 SFA commit Jordan Harrison, who was one of the better players in the entire tournament. While 2022 Darianna Littlepage-Buggs struggled to get her shots to fall in the championship, she showed why she is considered one of the top wings in the national class.
The New Mexico Clippers were the bracket busters of the weekend. With an upset win over a loaded Sports City U Black team in the first round and FBC Real in the 3rd place game, the Clippers ended an outstanding club season. Led by 2022’s (New Mexico commits) Jaelyn Bates and Natalie Chavez, the Clippers fast-paced and highly skilled style of play was the talk of tournament throughout the weekend.
In a loaded 12-team PREMIER Bracket division that included pool play into a championship bracket, there were no easy wins, and every game mattered.
Wisconsin Flight's summer solidified them as one of the top 16U programs in the country. The PREMIER Bracket Champs had 4 super solid wins in The PRIME event over ProSkills 16U, Elevate Elite, Lady Jets, and finally Jason Kidd Select in the final. Led by supremely skilled 2024 Allie Ziebell, who was absolutely COOKIN in the championship game, 2024 super shooter Taylor Stremlow, and 2023 swiss army knife Makiah Hawk - the Flight continued to do what they’ve done all season: shoot the lights out and find a way to win.
Jason Kidd Select had a terrific run, going 3-1 including a heart-racing semifinal win over Mac Irvin Fire. Led by 2023 Dymonique Maxie, 2024 super recruits Harper Peterson and Jordan Lee as well as 2025 Samari Bankhead, the first-year program proved it is one that is here to stay. Look for Jason Kidd Select to be amongst the elite national programs for years to come.
Mac Irvin Fire had a 2-1 weekend, including a 1-point win over BTR in a terrific game. 2023 Skylar Jones and 2024 Tahj Bloom showed their size and versatility throughout the weekend.
The PROJECT & PERFECT bracket was deep and competitive while featuring many elite young prospects.
Sports City U walked away with the championship in a dominant performance. The only single digit game they had was versus FBC Carolina. Led by 2024’s Sanai Douglas, Leila Wells, Erika King, Helen Holley, and Kendall Braden, as well as 2025 Kira Reynolds – Sports City U was deep in all positions. Everyone played their role for what was one of the very best 15U teams of the summer. They share the ball and are committed to the defensive end.
ProSkills YG had an impressive showing, going 3-1 on the weekend. Led by 2025’s Kaylinn Kemp, Ananda Jenerson, Camille Williams and 2026 Amari Byles - ProSkills played an uptempo style offensively while playing a physical style defensively. They are a young crew who is not afraid of the test.
The SELECT Bracket provided a platform for some of the under the radar 2022’s still open in their recruitment.
Team Kidd 17u walked away with the championship in an extremely competitive game with FBC CE Lynn. They are a tough veteran and skilled team that defended really well. 2022 Kaile Cruz had a game in which she knocked down 7 three pointers.
FBC won 3 tight games on their way to a 3-1 weekend. An experienced and gritty group found a way to finish games on their way to the championship game.
The 3STEP SPORTS Bracket was highly competitive and allowed for some 2023’s to jump on college coaching radars.
True Texas Hoops 2023 Crabtree marched their way through the bracket. Led by 2023’s 6’4 Torie Sevier and sniper Ashlin Crabtree, True Texas Hoops was outstanding in their execution all weekend long.
Texas Elite Next Level had a terrific 2-1 showing over the weekend. Texas Elite’s balanced attack was led by 2024 Mylasia Smith on the perimeter and 2024 Karah Riley on the inside.
