Many of the top recruiting services in the country converged in San Antonio, TX to see some of the best prospects from the state on Saturday, March 5, 2016. The showcase was split into two sessions, middle school in the morning and high school in the afternoon.
Middle School The middle school session had numerous impressive players. Nobody stood out more than 2020 guard
Sarah Andrews. Andrews can do it all offensively: shoot the three-ball with easy range well beyond the arc, finish through contact, and pass with either hand with precision and distance. She is an almost impossible cover in the open court. Andrews needs to continue to develop defensively to become the complete package. She is the early leader for the #1 player in the country in the 2020 class. Not to be outdone, 2020
Deyona Gaston, showed a terrific, versatile game. Gaston has elite size, athleticism, and skill. Her ability to shoot, plus her handles and size, make her a difficult opponent for players her own age. 2020 wing
Myra Gordon—the younger sister of 2017 UCONN commit Lexi Gordon—showed a terrific all-around feel for the game. Gordon is a facilitator who sees the floor and the game as a whole at a very advanced level. She is a versatile, natural basketball player who will continue to improve with experience. 2020 guard
Jordan Webster stood out with her ability to shoot the ball with range. Webster needs to continue to improve the other aspects of her game to compliment her outstanding shooting ability. 2020 wing
Aja Holmes showed a versatile game for such a young player. Holmes did a very good job finishing over and through contact as well as showing a nice pull-up jump shot from the midrange. As Holmes extends her range to the three-point line, she will be a very tough cover on the summer circuit.
High School The high school session was loaded with players that will inevitably play at the next level. 2017 UCONN commit
Lexi Gordon showed her balanced attack. She has greatly improved her range and consistency on her jump shot in the last year. Gordon’s mixture of shooting from the outside, midrange, and ability to finish in traffic translate well to the next level. 2018
Nalyssa Smith showed an improving three-point shot. Adding consistency from the three to go along with Smith’s ability to handle and finish with elite size and athleticism make her a top tier recruit in the 2018 class. 2019
McKinzie Green played against a lot of older girls and stood out. Green mixes athleticism with high-level skill; she is a smooth ball handler with deep three-point range. Green is able to use her vertical leaping ability to finish over and through traffic. 2018
Mallory Adams is a shooter with good size. She continues to develop her offensive game off the dribble and from the midrange to complement her shooting. 2017
Ellie Rice showed a nice all-around game. Rice has easy, deep three-point range and an ability to finish in traffic. Her all-around skill and motor will contribute to her game in college. 2019
Corina Carter is a dynamic ball handler and shooter. Carter uses her small frame to get to the lane and find open teammates off the penetration. As she continues to improve as a pressure defender, she will be an ascending player in the 2019 class. 2018
Lolo Davenport is a sharpshooting wing with good size. She complements her shooting with an exceptional ability to rebound the ball on both ends of the floor. As Davenport improves her capacity to get to the midrange and to the basket with her ball handling, she will be a sought after prospect in the 2018 class. 2017
Taylor Green is an improving player who did a terrific job of handling the ball under pressure and finding teammates in a timely manner. Green is a floor leader who has a high level understanding of the game. Her ability to defend multiple different types of guards will help her at the college level. 2017
Avionne Alexander has a strong all-around game. She shot well from the midrange and finished in traffic. Alexander did an outstanding job of defending multiple positions and different types of players. With continued consistency from her outside shooting, she will be a rising player in the 2017 class.
