The 2015 Heart of Texas was held April 24-26, 2015 in Frisco, McKinney and Plano, TX. More than 230 teams played in front of over 170 college programs at the 24-court, three venue tournament.
Trena Mims (OK PWP Elite) – is a 2017 5’7” sturdy defender, who has a terrific motor and understands how to run a team. Mims was terrific in cutting off penetration against many top-level point guards throughout the tournament.
Gabby Gregory(OK PWP Elite) – is a 2019 5’11” wing, who can shoot the ball from the three and finish in transition, which she compliments with a nice mid-range jumper.
Kierra McGee (OK PWP Elite) – is a 2017 5’8” explosive, athletic left-handed guard. She is efficient in transition and getting to the basket and finishing through contact. McGee is also a versatile defender who can guard either the point or wing positions.
Jo Keni Lippe(OK PWP Elite) – is a 2017 5’10” athletic wing, who demonstrates excellent speed both with and without the ball and excels in transition. She is very strong, understands how to get to the free throw line and finishes well through contact.
Cenia Hayes (OK PWP Elite) – is a 2017 5’10” sniper; she is an underrated athlete and sees the floor extremely well. As a pure shooter from anywhere around the arc, her shot distinguishes her as a player and attributes to her vast amount of open looks from the three.
Mallory Vaughn (OK PWP Elite) – is a 2017 6’4” post, who finishes well down low and has a nice touch out to 15-feet. She is a good help defender who blocks shots from the weak side and gets on the boards. As Vaughn continues to add strength, she will be a handful for opponents to deal with.
Rellah Boothe (Jacksonville Lady Rams) – standing at 6’1” tall with elite athleticism and skill, Boothe is almost impossible to guard for opponents. She is a lefty and has an easy release with range well beyond the NBA three-point line. She is a terrific offensive and defensive rebounder and had several monster blocks throughout the tournament. Boothe is a five-star prospect who projects as an elite player at both the NCAA and WNBA levels.
Alecia Sutton (Missouri Phenom Napheesa) – is a dynamite 2016 5’8” point guard and can do it all: she is extremely quick, has tremendous court vision and can score from anywhere on the floor. Sutton has range well beyond the three-point line on her jump shot. She is a great on ball defender, who will be a true difference maker at the next level.
Vivian Gray (Argyle Lady Eagles) – is a 2017 6’1” top athlete who rebounds, defends, scores, facilitates and competes at the highest level. She proved herself an extremely efficient wing with an advanced mid range game and an ability to finish around the bucket. Gray peaked the interest of many high-level coaches outside the state who saw her play for the first time at the Heart of Texas.
Kianna Ray (Texas Elite adidas 17U Christian GATA) – is a 6’1” 2016 wing, a versatile scorer with a tremendous jump shot from the three and pull-up game. Ray is an effective wing defender who is sure to be a true difference maker at the collegiate level.
Amber Ramirez (SA Finest Blue) – is a 5’8” 2016 scoring dynamo who can get extremely hot from the three. She has remarkable handles, court vision, and flare for the game. Ramirez does a great job playing the passing lanes and picking off passes.
Christyn Williams (Team Arkansas Elite AAO Banshees) – is a 2018 5’10” guard, a gifted passer and a terrific shooter with easy three-point range. She shoots with her left hand but is extremely ambidextrous; she is an elite athlete and great on ball defender. Williams’s basketball instincts are off the charts and she projects as a top-level prospect in the 2018 class.
Alexis Gordon (Texas Elite adidas 17U Franey) – is a 6’0” 2017 wing with good mid range and a very consistent three-point shot. Gordon’s ability to play inside and out makes her a difficult matchup for opponents. She is a terrific defensive rebounder and an all out competitor who will surely be seen playing college ball in the next few years.
Brittany Brewer (Texas Elite adidas 17U Franey) – is a 2016 6’4” lefty post with great touch on the boards and a nice stroke out to the free throw line. She knows how to take up space in the lane and runs the floor well. As Brewer becomes stronger, she will prove challenging to defend.
Jamesia Ahmad (Texas Elite adidas 17U Thomas) – is a 2016 6’2” forward, who has been one of the best-kept secrets in DFW basketball the last couple of years while coming off the bench of a loaded Dallas Skyline High School team. Ahmad caught the attention of many schools at the Heart of Texas with her athleticism and hard-nosed play. She has very good hands, finishes on the offensive end and runs the floor extremely well. She is a rebounding machine on both ends and does an incredible job contesting shots from the weak side.
Kendall Elig (Texas Fire Black) – is a 2016 6’2” forward; she is an underrated athlete with plenty of skill, including a nice drop step and spin move in the post. Elig is a knock down shooter from 15-18 feet and a rebounder on both ends of the floor. She plays the passing lanes very well for a forward and possesses quick hands.
Kechelle Figueroa (Lady Pumas Elite Black) – is a 2016 5’6” athletic point guard with great strength. She finishes well through contact and is a sturdy defender who is tough to get around. Figueroa can pass inside and has a great three-point shot, especially from the corners.
Jakeira Ford (Texas Elite adidas 17U Phenom) – is a 2016 6’1” forward who finishes well over defenders, blocks shots from the weak side and rebounds on the defensive end. Ford runs the floor well and has very good hands in the post.
Madison Greeling (Saint Louis Running Angels) – is a 2016 5’6” combination guard; she is very athletic and has the ability to defend either guard position. Greeling has a prominent pull up jumper and her half court vision permits her to make good passing decisions.
Rebekah Hand (Texas Elite adidas 17U Simmons) – is a 2016 5’11” underrated sniper who does a great job making defenders work. She consistently beats opponents down the floor and looks to immediately get in position for the corner three; she is a 40% plus shooter on open threes. Hand also does a tremendous job playing the passing lanes defensively.
Jazmyne Harris (Texas Elite adidas 17U Phenom) – is a 2016 5’9” wing, a good ball handler, a lights out shooter from three and a finisher over defenders. Harris has extremely long arms, which allows her to play strong pressure defense and read the passing lanes well.
Anna Hurlburt (Texas Fire Black) – is a 2016 6’2” long, finesse post with terrific touch in the paint. She does a great job running the floor and finishing in transition. Hurlburt is a defensive rebounder who will continue to develop as she adds strength to her frame.
Aaliyah Jackson (Texas Elite adidas 17U Simmons) – is a 2016 6’0” super athletic, fast wing with a great vertical. She has added a nice stroke from the three to her already strong post and mid range offensive game. Jackson is a lock down defender who translates well at the next level.
Lexi Kirgan (Texas Fire Black) – is a 2016 6’4” post with good, quick footwork. She runs the floor well for a post and has a nice touch inside. Kirgan is a competitor on the defensive end and will truly improve as she continues to add strength to her upper and lower body.
Ashley Knight (Texas Elite adidas 17U Christian GATA) – is a massive 6’4” 2016 post; she has terrific hands and finishes well in the paint. Knight is a high level shot blocker who has really made strides defensively. She is a banger in the post on both ends of the floor who wears opponents out with her physical play throughout the game.
Brittney Myles (Louisiana Lightning) – is a 2016 6’2” post with good hands in the paint; she caught multiple passes that were thrown at her waist or lower. Myles is very bouncy, and does a terrific job on the boards on both ends. She thrived blocking shots from the weak side.
Madison Townley (Duncanville Pantherettes) – is a 2016 5’10” high-energy player whose effort caught the attention of the many coaches in attendance. She has really improved as a scorer by finishing more around the bucket and adding a nice stroke from 15-17 feet out. Townley’s exceptional athleticism and defensive versatility have always made her an athlete that puts in the extra effort to do all the “other” things that lead to wins.
Gabrielle Connally (TeamXpress) – is a 2017 5’7” duo guard with handles, a smooth release from the three-point line, and pressure defense. Connally is a naturally fast athlete who does a great job attacking the basket and finishing over defenders with both hands.
Emily Parker (Missouri Valley Magic 2017) – is a 2017 6’0” wing who can finish through contact. She is an efficient scorer who takes what the defense gives her. She works hard on both ends of the floor and cleans up the glass from the wing position. Parker also knows how to get to the free throw line and is a high percentage free throw shooter.
Brianna & Kianna Suber (Texas Elite adidas 17U Thomas) – are both 2017 5’8” wings; they are tremendous athletes that finish well. The Subers are high level on ball defenders and terrific passers. They know how to cause havoc when they pressure the ball together full court. Both twins have an improving jump shot that will make them a tough cover at the collegiate level.
Nya Tate (Mississippi Heat 17U) – is a 2017 6’0” wing who can pull up between 10-15 feet and shoot over pressure. She has a great body and extremely long arms that help her grab rebounds and hound shooters on the defensive end. Tate has good floor vision and finishes well in the open court.
Megan Abrams (Louisiana Lady Select Black) – is a 2018 5’8” shooting guard with a beautiful stroke from three, which she compliments with superior ball handling and passing skills. Abrams is versatile on the defensive end and is able to guard both the one and two positions.
Tatum Vattenheimer (Texas Elite adidas 17U Franey) – at 5’8”, she is the total point guard package: she hits the three-pointer with ease, but would prefer to facilitate, does an outstanding job finding open teammates and has elite court vision. Vattenheimer is a fierce competitor and will be a top-level prospect in the 2018 class.
