Many of the top players in the country from various classes attended the 2015 edition of the John Lucas 40/40 Combine in Spring, TX. The fast paced, highly competitive environment allowed rising players to show their worth. John Lucas and his staff used a no-nonsense “old school” approach that was very refreshing to the parents and scouts attending. I highly recommend this camp to any player fortunate enough to get an invite in the coming years. There were so many collegiate level prospects that it would be next to impossible to get them all in one article, but here are some of the players that shined the brightest…
2016 Aaliyah Wilson(OK) combined elite athleticism and skill.
2016 JaTavia Tapley (FL) combined elite size and skill from the wing position.
2016 Stephanie Paul (FL) showed a fluid, natural all around game.
2016 Anna McLeod (TX) seemingly knocked down every open jumper given to her during the open runs.
2016 Jordan Lewis (FL) was terrific with the ball and in her decision-making.
2016 Jaelyn Richard-Harris(TX) was dynamic with ball and next to impossible to stop from penetrating and making plays in the lane.
2017 Megan Walker (VA) is considered by most to be the #1 National Prospect in the class and showed why. Walker showed a smooth, easy flowing game with no visible weaknesses. Walker is a can’t miss difference maker at the collegiate level.
2017 Chennedy Carter (TX) was an absolute monster showing tremendous strength, explosiveness, and 3 point shooting.
2017 Chasity Patterson (TX) showed elite speed and shooting ability.
2017 Lexi Gordon (TX) is shooting the ball the best I have ever seen her. Gordon is a natural scorer from anywhere on the floor.
2017 Kiana Williams (TX) continued her momentum from this summer and shot lights out throughout the weekend.
2017 Chyna Nixon (VA) was terrific in showing explosiveness, ball handling and a deadly shot from 3.
2017 Keyanna Warthen (FL) showed terrific handles and a dynamite pull up game.
2017 Maya Caldwell (NC) showed a great all around game and is a rising prospect in the 2017 class.
2018 Sedona Prince (TX) proved to be the elite post of the 2018 class and was especially terrific during the skill based station work.
2018 Zarielle Green (TX) showed an improved release on her jump shot to add to her elite skill and size.
2018 Charlie Collier (TX) impressed with her ability to move and score in and around the paint with her elite size.
2018 Brooklyn Mitchell (LA) showed an elite first step and speed with the ball while making continued plays.
2018 Malaina White (FL) showed freakish athletic ability with very good skill to compliment.
2019 Elizabeth Scott (TX) continued her momentum from a strong summer and is a star in the 2019 class. Scott is very smooth with elite size and skill.
2019 Breanna Beal (IL) showed a very smooth overall game with elite athleticism.
2019 Deja Kelly (TX) was the best I have ever seen her, making plays on both ends of the floor.
2019 Myra Gordon (TX) showed terrific floor vision and shooting to complement her elite size at the guard position.
2019 Tai-Yanna Jackson (IL) proved that she is already an elite shot blocker/defender and as Jackson develops strength and adds to her offensive game she will be a skyrocketing prospect in the class.
2019 DaJinae McCarty (TX) put her name on the national map as a player to watch with her quickness and playmaking ability.
