Emilee Skinner, the ESPNW No. 7 ranked player in the 2025 class, is going to announce her commitment via Instagram Live (@emileeskinner1) at 10am (MT) tomorrow: Friday, October 4.
She is choosing from her finalists of: Notre Dame, TCU, Duke, UCLA, and Iowa.
Emilee is a 6-foot PG from Ridgeline HS (UT). She played her club ball on the adidas 3SSB Circuit with the Utah Lady Prospects. This past summer she was on the USAB U17 World Cup squad that won the Gold Medal in Mexico.
Skinner is a big guard who plays a smooth style. She attacks in transition with the best in her class and has a combination of a shifty and slashing style that allows her to get to the paint and create offense for her team – whether through scoring or facilitating. She has turned herself into a knockdown perimeter threat and with her advanced footwork and pace changing ability, is also an effective finisher at the rim with her size and length. She is a savvy defender and a floor general and should see her game flourish as she will be surrounded with comparable elite talent at the next level.
I asked Emilee about her recruiting process and how she ultimately was able to make her choice and she shared:
“I started taking visits in the spring and then into the fall. When I saw different campuses and staffs, it helped me to learn what felt right and what I want. I built great relationships through this whole process and learned more about what it takes to be successful at the next level. I’m grateful for the coaches who took time to recruit me.”
We were able to talk about her elite basketball experiences and how that has shaped her into the player that she is today. Most notably, Emilee has participated in:
2023 adidas Eurocamp
2023 adidas All-American Camp
2023 Nike Hoops Festival
2024 Stewie 30 (Breanna Stewart-led individual skills camp)
2024 Mamba League Invitational
“I am thankful for USA basketball – I learned a lot about the game and how to play with the best players around the country. My club helped me get recruited and the coaches were very supportive of me. The teammates I have played with these past couple years have been great and I wouldn’t be in this situation without them.”
Tune in to Emilee’s Instagram Live tomorrow for the announcement and to her social channels as well as SportsCenter Next for any subsequent reporting.
