Here is a brief synopsis of some of the key players from this event:
Alecia Sutton (5’8” — 2016 — Missouri Phenom Collier): Sutton is a terrific all around point guard. She can facilitate or score depending on what her teams needs and how she is utilized. Sutton can score from three, has a nice mid range jumper and a very good floater. Sutton has elite athletic ability and extremely quick hands, making her a terrific on-ball defender.
Destiny Slocum (5’7” — 2016 — Idaho Hoopdreams Black): Slocum has tremendous handles and is a terrific passer and shooter. She has great floor vision and is an all out competitor. The qualities that truly separate her from most are her desire to be the best player on every possession and her basketball acumen. Slocum drew up plays for her team multiple times during timeouts.
Natalie Chou (6’2” — 2016 — Texas Elite adidas 17U Simmons): Chou is an extremely versatile scoring guard. She has a terrific shot from three-point range and the mid range, and an advanced low post game against smaller opponents. Chou is very crafty in the post and opens herself up to a lot of "and one" opportunities.
Kianna Ray (6’1” — 2016 — Texas Elite adidas 17U Christian): Ray is a matchup nightmare for defenders. She has a great stroke from the outside and demonstrates the ability to get to the bucket when guarded by bigger players. Ray has a fast motor and excels as a wing defender.
Christyn Williams (5’10” — 2018 — Team Arkansas Elite AAO Banshees): Virtually unstoppable when she attacks the basket, Williams is a true elite athlete. She complements her slashing ability with a developing mid range and three-point jumper. Williams is a great on-ball defender and projects as a top level 2018 prospect.
Brandi Beasley (5’7” — 2016 — Team Penny-Holmes White): Beasley is a lightning quick guard, a slick ball handler and can use either hand to penetrate. She finishes at the basket over bigger opponents and compliments that with great court vision and the ability to find the open player. Beasley has a nice touch from the mid range and does a good job harassing opponents on the defensive end.
Mikayla Christian (5’10” — 2016 — Texas Elite adidas 17U Christian): Christian is a slick ball handler who handles pick-and-roll situations well and can get extremely hot from three. She is a crafty gamer, who tends to come up with game changing plays at the most pivotal moments.
Shameka Ealy (6’1” — 2016 — Arkansas Mavericks Elite): Ealy has a great combination of wing skill and size, which she utilizes to see over opponents easily and knock down the corner three-pointer. She also has a nice pull-up jumper and finishes well around the bucket. Ealy compliments her offensive game with a developing defensive game.
Jada Ford (5’10” — 2016 — Blue Star Oklahoma And1 17U): Ford is a high level athlete who knocks down the long-range shot. She is exceptional finishing in transition and through contact. Ford is an all-out hustle type who will take on the other team’s lead guard defensively at the next level.
Jaden Hobbs (5’8” — 2016 — Oklahoma Swarm 2016): Hobbs is a terrific outside shooter, makes plays for teammates and is a true contender. She does whatever is necessary for her team and has an extremely high basketball IQ.
Mandy Karako (5’11” — 2016 — Texas Elite adidas 17U Christian GATA): Karako has a very good combination of size, athletic ability and skill. She has an easy stroke from the three, a nice pull-up and floater game and finishes well around the bucket. Karako also uses her athletic ability on the defensive end to frustrate opponents.
Ericka Mattingly (5’6” — 2016 — KS NLHA Asics 2016 Soyez): Mattingly is a versatile guard who can facilitate or score. She is proficient at getting the ball to her teammates in a place where they can succeed. Mattingly understands how to cut off opponents’ penetrating the basket and play the passing lanes on the defensive end.
Payton Tennison (5’11” — 2016 — Arkansas Wings 17U Elite): Tennison is a long armed guard and wing combination who can flat out shoot the ball. She compliments her three point shot with a nice pull-up jumper. Her high-level athletic ability and elite skill will serve her well at the next level.
Kiara Williams (6’0” — 2016 — Arkansas Mavericks Elite): Williams is a flexible wing with a nice stroke out to the three-point line. She excels at finishing through contact and knocking down free throws for the “and one.” Williams is a versatile defender who is sure to be a lockdown stopper at the next level.
Quential Battle (6’0” — 2017 — Memphis Lady Mambas–AW): Battle is a very athletic wing with long arms and a strong frame. She has a nice touch out to 15-feet and finishes well around the basket.
Lexi Gordon (6’0” — 2017 — Texas Elite adidas Franey): Gordon is a top athlete and all out competitor. She has an impressive mid range game, knows how to finish at the basket and is a monster on the defensive boards.
Cenia Hayes (5’10” — 2017 — OK PWP Elite): Hayes is very fast with the ball for her size. She is an accurate shooter out to the three-point line, which she compliments with good court vision and the ability to pass the ball.
Jo Keni Lippe (5’10” — 2017 — OK PWP Elite): Lippe is a heady offensive player with an appealing mid range jumper and the ability to draw fouls and get to the free throw line.
Lauryn Miller (6’2” — 2017 — Missouri Phenom Collier): Miller has an adaptable game around the bucket: she showed a nice drop step, an inside floater and the ability to finish through contact. Miller compliments her strong frame with a high vertical. She does a nice job contesting shots from the weak side on the defensive end.
Emily Parker (6’0” — 2017 — Missouri Valley Magic 2017): Parker is a finisher with a strong body frame and a pretty mid range jumper; she also has very good footwork on the offensive end.
Jadyn Pimentel (5’4” — 2017 — Missouri Phenom Collier): Pimentel is lightning quick going to the bucket. She sees the floor extremely well and is a terrific passer off the dribble. Pimentel can knock down the three and is an effective on-ball pressure defender.
Tori Williams (5’8” — 2017 — Idaho Hoopdreams Black): Williams has the total offensive platform: she can knock down the three, has a nice pull-up, a great mid range jumper and finishes on the break. Williams also plays the passing lanes well on the defensive end.
Micaela Wilson (6’2” — 2017 — Team Arkansas Elite AAO Banshees): Wilson is a terrific long armed athlete with a very high skill level. She has an elevated vertical leap and uses that well on her mid range jump shot; her three-point shot is developing. Wilson is a very successful on-ball defender who uses her long arms and athleticism to pester opponents.
Katlyn Ghavidel (5’6” — 2018 — SA Finest Diamond): Ghavidel is a knock down shooter from anywhere on the court. She almost always finishes on the break and has a distinguished pull-up jumper.
Tatum Vattenheimer (5’8” — 2018 — Texas Elite adidas Franey): Vattenheimer is a top point guard in her class with advanced court vision. She continually puts her teammates in a position to succeed offensively. Vattenheimer also displays good size and a resourceful defensive package.
Corina Carter (5’3” — 2019 — SA Finest Diamond): Carter is an extremely quick, dynamite ball handler. She has a distinct hesitation move and can finish with either hand. Carter also shoots a nice floater and is developing her shot out to the three-point line.
Gabby Gregory (5’11” — 2019 — OK PWP Elite): Gregory has elite skill and size, and a knock down outside shot and jump shot. She projects as a top level 2019 prospect.
