256 teams from over 20 states converged onto Frisco, TX for the 2016 PBR Super 64 Nationals. Some of the best players in the country were able to show their talents in front of 286 college coaches. Here are just a few of the standouts that I was able to catch.
Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime won all 6 games by double digits. This loaded team is full of standouts at every position. 2018
Tatum Veitenheimer (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime) was the tournament MVP. Veitenheimer’s ability to handle pressure with the ball, knock down open shots and make plays on the defensive end were the linchpin of Prime’s tournament victory.
2017 Vivian Gray (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime) showed the ability to hit mid range jumpers and drop laser-like passes from all over the court.
2017 Lauren Heard (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime) was vital with her ability to pressure the ball and push tempo throughout the tournament.
2017 Gabrielle Connally (TeamXpress Black) is one of the most underrated guards in the country. Connally is a superior ball handler who has the ball on a string and can create for herself or others off the handle. Connally is a very good on-ball defender and plays the passing lanes well. Connally’s complete game will serve her well at the next level.
Other 2017’s that stood out were
2017 Grayce Spangler (AAO Banshees 2017),
2017 Ariana Whitfield (AD Elite – Team Peterson), 2017 Jenay Bojorquez (AZ I-10 Celtics 17u),
2017 Kiana Smith (Della Lamb Gauntlet National),
2017 Jayla Johnson (Duncanville Pantherettes) , 2017 Cara Judkins (Germantown Lady Panthers),
2017 Krystal Rice (Michigan Storm Gauntlet Elite), 2017 Abbie Winchester (OK Swarm Elite HS), 2017 Kiana Williams (SA Finest Cee Lou), 2017 Mya Hollingshed (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Phenoms), 2017 Trinity Oliver (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime), 2017 Megan Vincent (Texas Fire Black), and
2017 Madison Washington (UTLB/HG Elite).
2018 Nalyssa Smith (SA Finest Cee Lou) is a skyrocketing prospect in the class. Smith is extremely athletic and skilled. Combine that with elite size and you have a player that is nearly impossible to guard. Smith is still developing on the defensive end and could very well become my #1 national player in the class.
Other 2018’s that stood out were
2018 Monet Jones (AD Elite – Team Peterson),
2018 Nita Payne (Alabama Diamonds), 2018 Sienna Lenz (BC’s Finest U17 Uprising), 2018 Erin Howard (Flight Elite 10th Adidas), 2018 Madison Hardy (Germantown Lady Panthers), 2018 Danielle Rauch (I-90 Elite Adidas Gauntlet 11th), 2018 Anndea Zeigler (I-90 Elite Adidas Gauntlet 11th), 2018 Megan Abrams (Louisiana Lady Select Black), 2018 Tiara Young (Louisiana Lightning Boltz), 2018 Ja’Mee Asberry (OK PWP Gill), 2018 Raelene Eddens (OK Swarm Elite HS), 2018 Myriah Noodel-Haywood (Team St. Louis Red), 2018 Stephanie Soares (TeamXpress Black), 2018 Amber Bacon (Texas Elite 16u Adidas Holcombe), 2018 Uchenna Nwoke (Texas Elite 16u Adidas Holcombe), 2018 Quincy Noble (Texas Elite 16u Gauntlet Noble), 2018 Keziah Dilworth (Texas Elite 17u Adidas GATA), 2018 Bryn Gerlich (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime), 2018 Sedona Prince (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime), 2018 Catherine Reese (Texas Elite 17u Adidas Prime), and
2018 Alexandria Crain (Urban Heroes Elite – Marcus).
The 2019 class is developing and looks to be outstanding in the frontcourt. Two elite posts led the way in
2019 Kennedy Brown (NLHA Adidas 2019 Myers) and
2019 Taylor Jones (Urban Heroes Elite – Marcus). Brown is supremely skilled with the ability to shoot the ball out to the 3-point line. Brown has a high level understanding of the game and looks to be a huge recruit in the class. I have mentioned the skyrocketing Jones throughout the summer and she continued to impress. An outstanding athlete who is very fundamentally sound, Jones has a nice touch around the rim and is an excellent rebounder.
Other 2019’s that stood out were
2019 Tavy Diggs (DC Queens 2019 Orange),
2019 DaJinae McCarty (Lady Jets Elite Blue),
2019 Jen Schaible (MN Metro Stars Broback), 2019 Julia Geurs (MN Metro Stars Broback), 2019 Randi Thompson (North Texas Lights Out 2019 Elite), 2019 Akunna Konkwo (PSPA Rams 17u J. Harris), 2019 Nyah Green (SA Finest Cee Lou), 2019 Aijha Blackwell (Team St. Louis Red), 2019 Lauren Fields (Texas Elite 16u Gauntlet Noble), 2019 Madison Griffon (Texas Elite Adidas Christian 9th GATA). I was only able to catch a few 2020’s, but I did get to see some outstanding players in the class.
2020 Coriah Beck (AAO Banshees 2020) is an outstanding athlete with a developing game. Beck is excellent in transition and an outstanding on-ball defender who also plays the passing lanes well. Beck’s 2-way game will have many coaches hot on the recruiting trail for years to come.
Other 2020’s that stood out were
2020 Sasha Goforth (AAO Banshees 2020), 2
020 Jana Van Gytenbeek(CBC U17 Elite Adidas),
2020 Mckenzi Carter (HG Elite Watts),
2020 Kendall Maya (Lady BIQ Elite 2020), 2020 Shay Holle (Texas Elite Adidas Christian 8th GATA).
