Basketball Australia’s 2018 Athlete Development Camp Launched This Week

On January 22-25, Basketball Australia held their annual Athlete Development Camp at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Canberra, Australia. CoE Head Coach Kristen Veal and Assistant Coach Matt Paton lead the eight-member coaching staff made up of state’s High Performance Coaches.

The ADC camp gives Basketball Australia a chance to identify future Australian Opals as well as assess potential scholarship recipients for the Centre of Excellence (CoE).

	20 total athletes participated and they represented: Victoria (9), Queensland (7), South Australia (3) and New South Wales (1) from their respective National Intensive Training Program(s) (NITP).

During the ADC Camp, athletes participated in on-court sessions, individual meetings with coaches, physical testing, recovery training, and feedback meetings, as well as “green and gold” intrasquad scrimmages.
