Four hundred teams convened on the Raleigh Convention Center for the 19th Annual Deep South Classic. Teams from all over the United States and Canada took advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of college coaches. Below are standout players from the United States and International:
United States
2017 Mikayla Coombs- FBC MO 2017
Coombs is an athletic wing with an explosive first step who can create off the bounce and catch. She is dangerous in the transition game, and her ability to make plays on the defensive end makes her one of the best two way players in the country.
2017 Elodie Furey- Comets 17U
Furey is an athletic forward with a high basketball IQ. She moves well with out the basketball and rebounds on both ends of the floor. She impacts the game in ways that don’t always make the stat sheet.
2017 Annika Jank- Minnesota Fury
Jank is a mobile forward who rebounds and plays solid defense. She continues to develop her offensive game.
2018 Christinna Carr- 43 Hoops
Carr is a smooth wing with a sweet jumper who can knock it down consistently from all over the floor. She does a good job of getting to the elbows for a pull up jumper.
2018 Katlyn Gilbert- Best Choice United
Gilbert is a skilled combo guard who can break down her defender off the bounce and catch. She can score at all three levels plus can guard multiple positions.
2018 Izabela Leite- Carolina Waves
Leite is a play making point guard who has experience with the Brazilian National team. She has improved her shooting on the catch and quickened her release from the FIBA U16 Americas Championship.
International
2017 Shania Pellington- Matrix
Pellington is an athletic point guard who can break down her defender at will. She is a crafty finisher around the basket and creates quality shots for her teammates.
2017 Kyla Shand- Saskatchewan Cougars
Shand is a fundamental power forward/ post with good footwork in the low post. She uses a wide base to get deep position in the low post and play good post defense.
2017 Macaela Crone- Saskatchewan Cougars
Crone is a quick trigger shooter with good size. She has quickened her release and improved her ball handling since the FIBA U16 Americas Championship.
2018 Laetricia Amihere- Brampton Warriors
Amihere is a long, athletic forward who grabs your attention with her size then impresses you with her skill set.
2018 Keishana Washington- SBA
Washington is an athletic point guard who plays tenacious on ball defense and leads the team.
