Part 2: Individual Matchups in a Team Setting

The 2021 class is starting to take shape. There is a lot of depth across the board in this class. Here is a look at a sample of the top of the class at their respective positions.
 
Lead Guard
Olivia Miles (Philadelphia Belles)
Shayeann Day-Wilson (Sisters Keeper/UPlay)
Raven Johnson (FBC United)
Rori Harmon (Cy-Fair Premier)
O’Mariah Gordon (South Beach Elite)
Kayla McPherson (Team Elite)
 
The most depth in the class belongs to the lead guard position, although the shooters may have something to say about that. Olivia Miles is a can’t miss attraction who has unbelievable vision and passing ability. Day-Wilson is a dynamic ball-handler who gets into the paint at will. Johnson is an elite athlete with real skill and no weaknesses in her game. Harmon is as good an all-around point guard as there is in the national class. Gordon has special athleticism and can score on anybody. McPherson is as fast with the ball as any guard in the country, almost impossible for defenders to keep in front.

Fudd was the National HS POY as a sophomore, the first player to ever accomplish the feat. Rivers is the best natural athlete of the bunch and has a limitless ceiling. Von Oelhoffen had as good a summer as anybody in the class, very hard to guard. Wiggins is an elite 3-level scorer. Sellers is coming into her own and has as much potential as any wing in the class.

Kyndall Hunter (Cy-Fair)

Feels like one of the deeper shooting classes we have had in recent memory and this group challenges the PG's for most depth in the class … Shot-makers across the board. Citron has long been a Shane Laflin favorite and showed her shot-making ability off at USA trials this spring. Verhulst is as good a player as there is in the national class. Ducharme, Wolfenbarger, Kampschroeder, and Poffenbarger are all flame-throwers with size. Hunter is the best under 6’ shooter in the national class with extremely deep range. Watch out for Bradley, as consistent and efficient from both 3 and the mid-range as I witnessed all summer.

DeBerry reminds me of Charli Collier for those basketball fans in Texas. Feagin & Hollingshed are superior athletes with improving skill, both with huge upsides. Douda was the most improved player in the national class in my opinion, and she had a huge summer. Lattimore is as talented as any on the board with no glaring weaknesses. Iraiafen is big, mobile, and skilled.

Forwards
Brooke Demetre(Cal Stars)
Rayah Marshall(Cal Storm)
Aaliyah Moore(Cy-Fair)
Meg Newman(Indiana Elite)
 
Demetre has the skill, size, athleticism, and most of all  game– along with Fudd the most complete player in the class. Marshall, who burst on the scene with a huge run through the 2018 Nike Nationals, shows Kevin Durant type ability in flashes. Moore is one of my favorites who does anything and everything that is needed to win. Newman is an alpha rebounder and quite possibly the most underrated kid in the national class.
